Our History

Softub was started in 1985 by a group of engineers in a garage. By looking at other hot tubs on the market, these engineers decided to create a cost effective, durable and comfortable model that incorporated the best features possible to make Softub a possibility for the masses. Today, Softub is one of the largest Hot Tub Companies in the world and continues to be a leader in innovation and holds numerous patents with it's processes's and components that are unmatched by others.

Many of the processe's and manufacturing techniques used to create the Softub spa are patented and Softub Inc. continues to set industry standards for innovations in portable hot tub design. Softub Inc employs a team of engineers that devote themselves to make the most energy efficient, comfortable, affordable and enjoyable spa on the market.

Softub Inc. is known not just for innovative design, but also for a high quality finished product. Each Softub spa is placed through a rigorous series of tests to insure the best quality in the industry.

According to Tom Thornbury, Chairman of the board and co-founder, "Because of Softub's commitment to quality, all major components are assembled in the Softub plant and put through an intensive inspection and testing before being placed in the tub." Even the marine-grade vinyl that covers the tub is fabricated, sewn, and heat-sealed in Softub's vinyl factory to ensure that your Softub spa will last for years to come.
